African Union’s Committee of Ten Heads of State to Champion Education, Science and Technology development in Africa

The African Union Heads of State established a Committee of Ten Heads of State to Champion Education, Science and Technology development in the continent. The Committee held its first extra-ordinary summit 2-3 November 2018 in Lilongwe, Malawi. Based on the Summit Declaration and Action plan agreed upon by the Heads of State, a number of activities were assigned to RUFORUM (www.ruforum.org) for implementation.

Accordingly, the Secretariat has reflected on the decisions and recommendations and developed an Action plan for the Network Universities to support implementation of the Action plan agreed upon by the Heads of State. Universities and partners are requested to take note and work towards effecting delivery of the needed actions. Periodic reports to the African Union Commission, the Member States, the RUFORUM Governance Organs and other stakeholders will be made.
